This program has been specifically designed to meet the licensing requirements for a Security (Guard) Weapons Licence in Queensland. The course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively determine a response to risk situations, respond to risk situations and manage incidents including the use of firearms, ballistic vests batons and handcuffs. Participants will also receive training in weapon retention, weapon disarming, weapon maintenance and develop an in depth understanding of the legalities pertaining to the use of force. Participants will attend one day at a live firing range where they will receive individual coaching and practice with the firearms before their safe handling skills and marksmanship are assessed.
The program is conducted primarily as a practical scenario based course with both written and practical assessments. Emphasis is placed on the safe handling of firearms and selecting an appropriate response to risk situations.
Our instructors are industry professionals with several years experience in the safe handling of firearms in Security, Military, and Recreational Shooting environments.

On completion of this program participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and may apply to the Queensland Police for a Security (Guard) Weapons Licence.
1. Must have completed a Certificate 2 or 3 in Security Operations
2. Must have completed the units required for a Security Officer (Cash-in-Transit) licence**
** These units (or licence function) are required before you apply for a Weapons Licence. You can complete the units with ATA before or after the firearms course if required. See our other listings or contact our office for more info.
3. Any criminal conviction or domestic violence order in the past 5 years is considered disqualifying and Weapons Licensing Branch will not issue a licence. Contact us if you require more details.
6 days in class. Classes are Monday - Saturday from 8.45am to 4.30pm
